Expanding the Portfolio
Expanding the Portfolio
When we launched the Savic Labs website, we had two products: NikkiOS (beta) and Quantum Shield (stable). A deliberately small portfolio.
Today we have six products in active development, with four new betas joining the lineup: Pulse, Convert, HotWallet, and Nikki.
The Graduation Criteria
We don't promote experiments to products based on excitement. The criteria are practical:
- •Someone is using it — Internal use counts, but external interest is better
- •It solves a real problem — Not a demo, not a concept
- •We can support it — Documentation, stability expectations, clear scope
- •It fits the lab — Verifiability, privacy, or reliability as core values
The New Additions
Pulse started as a quick way to benchmark whether a browser tab was sluggish. It grew into a full device/browser diagnostics tool. Not a speed test—a performance test.
Convert was an internal PDF toolkit. We needed to merge, split, and compress files without uploading them anywhere. Now it handles images, compression, and cryptographic conversion receipts.
HotWallet came from trading experiments. Algorithmic strategies, ML models, shadow mode for risk-free testing. Crypto trading is risky; at least the tooling should be solid.
Nikki is the on-device AI assistant. Everything runs on your phone. Import WhatsApp chats, PDFs, ask questions—nothing leaves your device. Different from NikkiOS: Nikki is mobile-first and consumer-focused.
What Didn't Graduate
Not everything makes it. We've retired experiments that:
- •Solved problems nobody had
- •Required infrastructure we couldn't maintain
- •Drifted from our core values
- •Worked as demos but not as products
That's the point of having a labs process.
What's Still Cooking
There's always more in the pipeline. Some experiments are too early to talk about. Others might never ship. Follow Lab Notes if you want glimpses of what's next.
